Our Silly Andrew is BACK!!

http://www.kodakgallery.com/PhotoView.jsp?&collid=36150276209&photoid=26150276209

Yesterday and this morning we were told to play with Andrew inside the orphanage. We didn’t have much time to visit with him yesterday morning since he was sleeping most of the morning due to the medicine that they gave him for the slight fever 99.5 F he had yesterday. He was sluggish even during the afternoon yesterday, however, today he was back to his silly self.

We played with him indoors this morning on this new stack toy that we got for him. It’s the stack the colored donuts game (speaking of donuts, Robert is missing donuts and bagels…nowhere to be found in Ukraine). It’s a neat toy since when you put a donut on it the toy will play a tune. A different tune per different size donut. It was a hit with Andrew. One that he can master and keep him entertained. We are working with teaching him the different colors of the rings. We have a few cute photos of him playing with the game.

Today, we said farewell to the Irish couple, who had court on Monday and got their 30 days waived. They are on their way home as we speak. On our lunch break, Robert and I were walking to the market to pick up some groceries for our hotel room and saw somebody waving frantically and blowing the horn at us. It was the Irish couple and their adopted daughter telling us that they were going home tonight. We were so happy for them. They’ve been in Ukraine for a long time and went to 2 other orphanages before finding their daughter at our orphanage in Dnipropetrovsk.

Meanwhile back at the orphanage, we met a single lady from Spain who is now in the process of adopting, “Squeeky”, as we call him (aka: Victor) because of the orphanage shoes he had on the other day. Every time he would run the shoes sounded like a doggy squeek toy. He was one of the boys that came up to Robert the day before last and wanted to play with him, and Andrew took possession of his Daddy back when he saw what Victor was trying to do. We are so happy for Victor being adopted, he is such a happy energetic little boy. His new Mama got him a new pair of shoes as well.

On the Eastern front, we heard from Alla today, via email. She is doing fine and is working with another family while we wait out our 30 days. She said that she will be back to finish our paperwork when Sept 14th comes and not to worry.

By the way, For those of you that are so wonderful to leave comments on our blog or on the Ofoto picture website of Andrew, we would LOVE it if you could sign the comments with at least your first name so we know who is making these comments. Thanks, I’m sure Andrew would love to know as well when he gets older.

Karrie and Robert,

Love the photos and videos of Andrew!!!

Hey listen, I think you ought to include, ONE photo via PICASA like you used to, and then below that include the link to Kodak for all of the photos.

I think it will make the web site more visually interesting, and solicit more comments and feedback from everyone!

Love,

dw

Also, please include some general photos of the orphanage and the surroundings that Andrew's current home is around, if you can.

Thanks!

Mylene and Patrick,

All of the information that you are looking for is found by emailing Cathy Harris from www.ukrianianangels.com. That is who we went through for our adoption. Best wishes on your adoption as well.
